Description
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Music teacher who can teach across all levels from Primary to High School. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing and delivering music lessons to students across all grades, including IGCSE, AS and A-level music.
As a Music teacher, you will play a critical role in fostering a love of music among students, helping them to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed in their studies and beyond. You will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging and innovative music programs that support the school's strategic objectives and cater to diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality music lessons to students across all grades, including IGCSE, AS and A-level music.
- Plan and implement innovative and engaging music programs that support the school's strategic objectives and cater to diverse learning needs.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through regular formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback and support to help students achieve their learning goals.
- Prepare students for IGCSE, AS and A-level music exams, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, collaboration and a deep appreciation of music among students.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the music department and the wider school community to support the delivery of an integrated and holistic music education program.
- Contribute to the co-curricular music programs by supporting student music ensembles, bands, performances and events.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and assessment data, as well as participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice.
- Participate in school-wide activities, such as staff meetings, professional development sessions and extracurricular events, as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or related field.
- A teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
- Demonstrated experience teaching music to students across a range of grades, with a particular focus on IGCSE, AS and A-level music.
- Sound knowledge of music theory, composition and performance, as well as familiarity with a range of musical genres and styles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning needs.
- An enthusiastic and dynamic approach to teaching, with a commitment to ongoing professional development and improvement.
Conditions:
- 11 Months contract (August - June)
Working Hours:
- This is a full-time position, with working hours determined by the school's schedule.
- Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to support co-curricular music activities and events.
