Position title: KS1 International Homeroom Teacher

Reports to: Head of Primary

Purpose of the Role:

This role is designed to enrich the Key Stage 1 (KS1) education experience by delivering engaging and high-quality teaching across multiple subjects within the Cambridge primary curriculum at the Japanese International School, Hanoi.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons across core subjects, aligned with the Cambridge Primary curriculum.
  • Utilize diverse teaching methods and tools to cater to various learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback and additional support as needed.
  • Create cross-curricular links to enrich student learning and foster a holistic approach to education.

Curriculum Development and Collaboration:

  • Contribute to the planning and development of a coherent and progressive KS1 curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance subject integration and support student engagement across disciplines.
  • Participate in school exhibitions, assemblies, and presentations to showcase student achievements.

Professional Development and School Community Involvement:

  • Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain high standards of teaching practice.
  • Attend and actively participate in school events, staff meetings, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Support the school’s mission and values by contributing to school-wide initiatives and fostering a positive community spirit.
