Objective: Teach and practice the Past Simple tense with to be and action verbs (regular + irregular), including affirmative, negative, questions, and Wh-questions.

Content Overview:

  • Grammar Explanation:

    • To be in past (was/were) – positive, negative, questions, short answers.

    • Verbs in past – regular (-ed) and irregular forms.

    • Spelling rules for regular verbs (study → studied, stop → stopped).

  • Time Expressions: yesterday, last week, last night, two months ago, in 1990, etc..

  • Examples:

    • I visited my grandparents a week ago.

    • She went to the cinema last night.

    • They weren’t at home yesterday morning.

  • Practice Activities:

    • Fill-in-the-blank with was/were and past verbs.

    • Yes/No & Wh- questions (Did you go to school yesterday?).

    • Put the words in correct order (I played chess with my father last night.).

    • Verb transformation tasks (present → past).
