Description
I. Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Academic Delivery
- Deliver ESL lessons aligned with the MOET curriculum for secondary students (Grades 7–8)
- Design lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments based on students’ needs and learning objectives
- Develop students’ communication skills, academic English, critical thinking, and independent learning abilities
- Support students in Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, presentations, academic writing, and study skills
- Prepare students for school examinations, IELTS, international programs, and university pathways
- Monitor student progress and provide regular constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate academic records and student performance data
- Effectively use LMS and other educational technology in teaching
2. Student Support & Pastoral Care
- Create a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment
- Support students’ academic, emotional, and social development
- Provide additional support for students with learning or language needs
- Collaborate with parents, homeroom teachers, counselors, and academic staff
- Undertake pastoral care or form tutor responsibilities when assigned
3. Classroom Management
- Maintain effective classroom management aligned with international school standards
- Ensure a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
- Apply age-appropriate and culturally responsive behavior management strategies
- Address student behavior issues in accordance with school policies
4. Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in CPD, training sessions, meetings, and school events
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and assessment standardization
- Contribute to interdisciplinary and school-wide academic activities
- Stay updated with modern ESL/EAL teaching methodologies
5. Safeguarding & Compliance
- Comply fully with safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety policies
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students
- Report safeguarding concerns promptly and appropriately
- Maintain high professional ethics and conduct at all times
II. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
- PGCE / Teaching License / QTS or equivalent required
- TESOL / CELTA / DELTA / MA TESOL preferred
- Experience teaching ESL/EAL at secondary level
- Experience with MOET / IGCSE ESL / AS–A Level preferred
- IELTS, academic writing, or university preparation experience is an advantage
