- JOB SUMMARY
Primary School Teacher has a critical contribution to the development and enhancement of the teaching quality and the student experience following True North School’s pillars of excellence and philosophy. You will also manage the class’s effectiveness, safety and related issues at the school.
- RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives;
- Prepare classroom and course materials and maintain an attractive, safe and stimulating classroom environment and to contribute to displays in the school as a whole;
- Grade students’ assessments, record their development, progress and report students’ results;
- Ensure the standard outcomes of students following school’s pillars of excellence and philosophy;
- Review tests with students to ensure they are fulfilling requirements and are placed in the proper classes or programs;
- Research new teaching methods for teaching as well as current educational thinking and practices to improve the pedagogy and understanding of students’ behavior and development;
- Study/Attend courses, workshops and meetings and participate in appraisals and reviews of other teachers’ classes;
- Confer with colleagues regarding instructional techniques, organization of practices, etc. to provide guidance and mentoring;
- Communicate with parents on students' learning and progress, drawing attention to special skills and talents, as well as to problems or difficulties
- Take responsibility for maintaining good order, discipline and respect for others, among the students, both inside and outside the classroom; to promote understanding of the school's rules and values; to safeguard health and safety; and to develop relationships with and between students, conducive to optimum learning. Teachers are expected to role model appropriate use of language and communication.
- Participate in teaching and operating extra-curricular activities and summer camp activities;
- Serve as a homeroom / class teacher with responsibility for the day-to-day pastoral care of students;
- Carry out supervisory duties at break/lunch times as required
- Other tasks assigned by the Line Manager and Board of Management.
