Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Plan and prepare weekly lessons aligned with the relevant pacing guide and Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that support students performing below grade level while challenging those at or above grade level.

  • Continuously assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to maximise academic achievement.

  • Cover classes for absent teachers when assigned by the direct supervisor, Head of Teachers, or IP Operations Team.

  • Attend weekly grade-level and subject meetings as scheduled.

  • Submit weekly student planners outlining lesson objectives, topics, projects, vocabulary, homework, and other learning activities.

Operational & Administrative Duties

  • Assess and mark student work, maintaining accurate gradebooks in accordance with school policies and required timelines.

  • Attend monthly meetings with teachers and teaching assistants to discuss student progress, concerns, and update the Communication Log.

  • Support the planning, organisation, and coordination of International Programme (IP) events and departmental activities.

  • Maintain professional and timely communication with parents regarding student progress and welfare, following school communication guidelines.

Department Development

  • Contribute ideas and initiatives to enhance academic programmes, extracurricular activities, and departmental operations.

  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of new textbooks and teaching resources to support curriculum improvement.

  • Attend professional development workshops and training sessions as assigned.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities reasonably assigned by the Curriculum Coordinator, Head of Teachers, or IP Operations Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education (B.Ed./M.Ed.) in a relevant subject area; or

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (BA/MA/BS/MS) plus a recognised teaching qualification or teaching licence (e.g. PGCEi, QTS, or a valid U.S. Teaching License).

  • Minimum 2 years of full-time teaching experience, preferably in an international school environment.
