POSITION OVERVIEW

A Mandarin Teacher is responsible for teaching, preparing materials & arranging schedules, organizing activities, tests or assessments relating to Mandarin; as well as ensuring the quality of classes and assessments. He/she is also required to join the tasks of the Academic Team, contribute, and generate ideas to the general teaching.


RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  1. Teaching tasks
  • Collaborate with Mandarin Lead Teacher to build up the Academic Year’s plan for Mandarin team, Academic Team & personal plan;
  • Prepare materials, lesson plans, teaching plans with specific learning goals relating to Mandarin for students;
  • Teach, manage and take care of students during your classes;
  • Organize teaching and learning activities to develop students' learning capacity;
  • Create new teaching or learning methods to help students achieve their best results;
  • Update class’s status and students individually (if any) on Learning Management System of the School;
  • Organize Mandarin assessments or tests to evaluate students' learning effectiveness and proactively adjust teaching methods;
  • Complete the academic reports assigned by the Senior Leadership Team;
  • Prepare materials and join mutual meetings or 1-1 meeting with parents of your class;
  • Carry out other duties such as student supervision, lunch duties, club activities, after-school activities (ASA), and advisory tasks as required.
  1. Non-teaching tasks
  • Collaborate with teachers, students, and faculty on implementing initiatives that enhance academic performance and student engagement;
  • Actively participate in training and professional development activities required/organized by the School;
  • Build respectful, cooperative relationships with Parents and Students;
  • Participate in school activities and events;
  • Support admissions/marketing events for student recruitment;
  • Carry out WASC assignment and MOET related work as required.
  1. Other tasks as required by the Academic Team, Senior Leadership Team, and Board of Management.
