Job Description

Sakura schools,Tay Ho Tay campus is now looking for one (01) Full-time Filipino Montessori Lead teacher starting this October. Candidates must have an international Montessori Certificate in order to apply. Please read below!

POSITION TITLE: LEAD TEACHER (Montessori Teacher)

REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL OR VICE PRINCIPAL

Requirements 

A Bachelor Degree in Education/ Early Childhood Studies

  • MUST HAVE an International Montessori Certificate

  • Must have teaching certification (TESOL, TEFL,…)

  • Good English Communication Skill

  • Treat the children with love and respect

  • Flexible and able to adapt well in a classroom setting

  • Good problem-solving skills, and planning and organizational skills

  • Enthusiastic and eager to learn

  • Passionate about Montessori Educational Philosophy

  • Having at least 2-3 years in teaching Montessori kindergarten.

Main responsibilities for Montessori Teacher

Full and exact description of the Department’s/ Division’s main functions:

  • Follow proper procedures to ensure children’s health and safety.

  • Create and maintain a good and productive working environment in the class and with other departments.

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the teachers in the class.

  • Maintain classroom materials and equipment.

  • Build and maintain good relationships and connection with parents in line with the school’s policies and procedures.

Daily

  • Perform early duty and late duty as assigned by the School Board

  • Demonstrate lessons to the children and record their progress and development

  • Maintain a prepared classroom environment

  • Coordinate with the other teachers in checking children for any signs of wound, scar or signs of illness (high body temperature) upon their arrival in class

  • Coordinate with other teachers in checking the children’s bag and belongings

  • Check the children’s meal and food ingredients (Note down children with history of food allergies) and assisting children who need help during meal time

  • Check attendance using the hard copy and manage/demonstrate lessons during circle time

  • Confirm attendance of the class using the hard copy and update Kids Online attendance for the day

  • Coordinate with other teachers in ordering meals for the children and the teachers and checking request for children’s medicine and assisting in administering them

  • Assign Montessori trained Teachers students that they can assist and monitor during Montessori work time.

  • Do the second attendance update if needed (12:30-13:30)

  • Coordinate with other teachers in responding to Kids Online messages and notices

  • Support and give feedback/comments about the English teacher during English class time

  • Coordinate with the other teachers and follow procedure during handover of students as well as follow bus handover procedure

  • Coordinate with the other teachers and follow procedure on cleaning and check classroom equipment, electricity and overall condition of the classroom before leaving as a safety precaution

  • Follow procedure for handover of children to late duty class

Weekly

  • Submit weekly lesson plan and upload it on the Google Drive

  • Ensure that the Gate Sign is properly posted outside the classroom

  • Submit weekly notice to parents through Kids Online

  • Attend the weekly department meetings

  • Keep up-to-date of emails/information concerning the class and respond in a timely manner

  • Check and monitor the weekly work assignment of the teachers

  • Discuss and develop/ evaluate with the other Montessori Teachers and Interns the weekly lesson plan

Monthly

  • Submit monthly individual feedback for all students through Kids Online

  • Coordinate with the other teachers and complete the Weights and Measures checking of the children every month

  • Participate in the evaluation of monthly work assignment results

  • Conduct class meetings at least twice a month

  • Discuss with the other Montessori Teacher and Montessori Intern the individual lesson plans of the children

  • Participate and/or oversee in the preparation of teaching tools for other subjects

  • Submit monthly stationery order

  • Prepare the monthly work plan/ assignments for the teachers

  • Ensure proper liquidation of class funds with Accounting Department

Semi Annual

  • Prepare and conduct Parent-Teacher Conferences after every Semester

  • Coordinate with other teachers and prepare the Progress Reports and Narratives of all students

  • Coordinate with the other teachers and submit Montessori Materials Inventory

Annually

  • Prepare Montessori curriculum

  • Prepare and conduct Parent Orientation at the beginning of the school year
