[Hanoi] Art Appreciation Teacher (Part time) - Start from July/2024

1. JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Schedule:
  • 4 periods per week
  • Duration: 2 semesters

• Course structure:

• • Follow the course syllabus:
    • Adhere to the prescribed syllabus and ensure all topics are covered within the academic schedule.
    • Update lesson plans and instructional materials to align with curriculum standards.
    • Introducing students to various art forms, styles, and historical periods
    • Enhancing critical thinking and analysis through art critique and discussions
    • Conduct engaging and informative lectures, discussions, and activities on art history, techniques, and appreciation that encourage critical thinking and analysis of various art forms.
  • Classroom management:
    • Establish and enforce classroom rules to maintain a conducive learning environment.
    • Address any behavioral issues promptly and fairly.
  • Projects and assignments:
    • Designed to foster creativity and individual expression (incorporate hands-on activities, research projects, and presentations)
    • Evaluate and grade projects based on creativity, technique, and adherence to project guidelines.
  • Grading and reports:
    • Assess student performance through tests, quizzes, and assignments.
    • Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work.
    • Maintain accurate records of student grades and progress.
    • Prepare and submit midterm/end-of-term reports on student performance.
• Elective lessons:
  • For Grades 10 and 11
  • 2 periods per week per grade (total of 4 periods per week)
  • Content: Same core material as the Art Appreciation course for 12AI/11AI, emphasizing practical drawing skills and hands-on activities.
  • Focus on drawing skills and techniques through guided practice and individual projects

Teaching Responsibilities for an Art Appreciation Teacher

• Administrative duties:
  • Attend faculty meetings, school events, and others (if required)
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks such as attendance tracking, record-keeping, grades, and reports.
• Resource management:
  • Manage and maintain classroom art supplies and equipment (if applicable).
  • Ensure the art room is clean, organized, and safe for students (if applicable).

2. REQUIREMENTS:

• B.Ed/M.Ed in relevant field.
• or BA/MA/BS/MS in relevant field + Professional teaching qualification/license (PGCEi, QTS, US teaching license).
• A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience (full-time), preferably in an international or bilingual school.
