Overview of Position

Point Avenue is a private education technology company offering K-12 educational services and admissions consulting across Southeast Asia headquartered in Hanoi, Vietnam. With a successful track record in China and Korea, mature curriculum and education products, technology infrastructure, and a team of passionate/experienced educators, Point Avenue brings the best education service to the Southeast Asian community.

The Camp Activity Lead is responsible for coordinating, developing, and managing camp activities. In addition, the Camp Activities Lead will manage staff and ensure camp activity expenses fall within the designated budget all while abiding by and promoting our vision, mission, and ethos.

Responsibilities and Duties

1/ Camp Management (75%) 

- Training:

  • Effectively train and develop mentors to perform to standard throughout camp activity programs; set the tone for professionalism; provide routine feedback to mentors to address deficiencies, and recognize excellence

-Management & Communication

  • Operates and maintains the activities program, staff, and campers throughout the designated camp program.
  • Ensures timeliness and promptly communicating if an activity requires additional time
  • Frequently monitors key communication channels during camp operations.
  • Manages a team of activities personnel that are responsible for activity preparation, planning, execution, and clean-up
  • Oversees storeroom management
  • Assists with creating a workplace culture that emphasizes our leadership and character development, collaboration, and desire to assist one another
  • Responsible for camper and staff safety and well-being during camp activity programs related to but not limited to: waterfront activities & emergencies, hiking activities & emergencies, severe weather, evacuations, missing camper, search and rescue, power outages, dangerous animals, unwanted visitors, fire, campfire procedure, medicine distribution, sick camper policy, and dietary restrictions 
  • Provides individualized camper updates and feedback via planned progress reports & parent communication

2/ Camp program preparation  (25%) 

-Planning & Logistics:

  • Conduct a site visit with the Camp Director and relative parties to appropriately plan camp programs
  • Complete a comprehensive purchase list for all camp activities for approval by the Camp Director at least 1 month in advance of camp admin week
  • Meet with the Camp Director weekly to update the status of current and future projects

-Development:

  • Work with the Camp Director to develop vision and strategy for camp activity programs
  • Develop level and age-appropriate activity programs - physical fitness, leadership challenges, recreational activities, etc. - using appropriate program design and mentorship methodology to maximize camper learning outcomes
  • Implement measurement tools to evaluate camper outcomes, mentor’s effectiveness, and program appropriateness.
  • Create and develop Point Avenue Leaders Camp activity plans in the areas of Physical Fitness, Free Choice, Camp Wide, Leadership Activities, etc.  - per the deadlines set by the Camp Director
