CAMBRIDGE ECONOMICS TEACHER

We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic economics teacher who can design an outstanding Economics long-term plan and lesson plans and deliver outstanding teaching, to ensure effective student learning in the subject and to achieve excellent results for the students.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

●To plan, resource and deliver interactive and inspiring schemes of learning and lessons that
ensure that all students make excellent progress and attain high levels in Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A Level Economics, under syllabus 0455 and 9708.
● To provide a nurturing and stimulating classroom and academic environment that helps students to develop as learners
● To maintain/establish positive behavior for learning across the whole school
● To contribute to the effective working of the school
● To support students in the acquisition and development of learning dispositions and positive character traits
● To provide stimulating and enriching extra-curricular/enrichment opportunities for students and potentially for members of the wider school community
● To be accountable for student progress and attainment levels in the subject.
● Prepare and deliver lectures to students on topics such as price system and microeconomy, price theory, macroeconomics, microeconomics and government macroeconomics intervention.
● Prepare course materials such as unit tests, chapter assessments, homework assignments, and handouts.
● Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers.
● Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
● Keep abreast of developments in their field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences/professional development.
● Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
● Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
● Maintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist students.
● Select and obtain materials and supplies such as textbooks.
● Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
● Advise students on academic and vocational curricula, and on career issues.
● Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and students issues.
● Participate in campus and community events.

QUALIFICATIONS

● Native English speaker with Bachelor's degree/PGCE/QTS, Major: Education / Economics/ Business.
● Hold a pedagogical certificate/PGCE/QTS if you do not hold a degree in Education
● Teaching certification or license
● Ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning
● Creativity, flexibility, adaptability and enthusiasm

CONDITIONS: 6 Months contract (January - June)
WORKING HOURS

This is a full-time position, with working hours determined by the school's schedule.
Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to support co-curricular music activities and events.
