AES is proud to announce that it is nearing the final stages of the Cognia Accreditation Process. Currently, AES is a Cognia Candidate School. However, we are confident in our ability to gain Full Accreditation Status within the 2023-2024 Academic Year.
Being accepted for candidacy is the first step in the accreditation process and is the result of a readiness review conducted by Cognia, the organization responsible for determining a school’s readiness for International Accreditation. AES started this process in January of 2023 submitting our application for accreditation. Over the next 9 months, AES Staff and Administrators conducted thorough reviews of the leadership culture, the learning culture, and organizational resources, in order to demonstrate our readiness for consideration of Cognia Accreditation.
AES is pleased and excited to continue to pursue accreditation. During this time AES Leadership and staff will address Cognia’s recommendations, conduct surveys, hold site visits, and continue to develop our long-term vision of Educational Service and innovation.
Cognia was formed as AdvancED in 2006 by the consolidation of the pre-college divisions of two of the U.S. regional accreditation organizations: the Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Council on Accreditation and School Improvement of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In 2012 the Northwest Accreditation Commission joined AdvancED. AdvancED merged with Measured Progress in 2018 and the organization rebranded as Cognia in 2019.
