“Bun cha ca” is known as one of the most favourite noodles in Danang. The main ingredients of the grilled fish cake are mackerel, yellowtail catfish or brronze featherback fish mixed with black peppers, salt and fish sauce. You will be impressed by the natural sweet and aromatic of the broth, which is made from simmered fish bones, tomato, pumpkin, pineapple and cabbage. “Bun cha ca” can be severed with a dish of raw vegetables, beansprouts, lemon and chilli. 3. Mì Quảng (Quang-Style Noodles)
“Mi Quang” or “Quang-Style noodles” is the signature dish of Danang
“Mi Quang” or “Quang-Style noodles” is the signature dish of Danang. “Mi” means noodles and “Quang” stands for Quang Nam province because Danang used to be a part of Quang Nam in the past (“Quang Nam – Da Nang” province) until 1997 when it was separated and became one of the five independent municipalities in Vietnam.
There are many types of “Mi Quang” such as pork&shrimp, chicken, frog meat, duck, beef, eel, boiled quail eggs or jelly-fish. A bowl of “Mi Quang” including a layer of raw vegetables at the bottom, followed by the yellow noodle and the small amount of broth to wet the noodles and bring everything together. They put green onion, roasted peanuts, rice crackers, sliced banana blossoms, lemons, and chilli on top of the dish to give “Mi Quang” a special flavor.

You can easily find “Banh Xeo” in Danang because it was sold in any local markets, roadside stalls, restaurants or food festival. “Banh Xeo” is a combination of rice flour and tumeric, filled with ingredients such as vermicelli noodles, chicken, pork or beef slices, shrimps, eggs, sliced onions, beansprouts, and mushrooms.
The word “Xeo” in “Banh Xeo” refers to the sizzling sound it makes when the batter hits hot pan. You can wrap “Banh Xeo” in rice paper together with a mustard leaf, vermicelli noodles, some lettuce, mint leaves, basil and cucumber. Then dip it in fermented peanut sauce mixed with fish sauce to make the dish full of aromatic flavor.
