Job Description

We are looking for enthusiastic teachers to start work as soon as possible in Bac Giang, Vietnam. Bac Giang is a city located 50km from Hanoi and 40km from the airport which makes it an ideal location for travel around Vietnam and Asia. You will teach 35 minute lessons in the local schools and 1hr 30 private lessons in the English centre. All lessons are beginner to intermediate level English, making this an ideal first position for newly qualified TEFL teachers. You will be required to plan lessons but support is provided from fellow teaching staff and course books. You will have a Vietnamese teaching assistant available to support you in lessons.

Bac Giang offers an authentic experience of Vietnamese culture. The city first began recruiting English teachers one year ago to work and help Vietnamese children. This is a unique opportunity to help students begin their English education. The students are very excited to learn English and you will focus on speaking and listening skills, taught through games, songs and practice conversations.

Successful candidates are required to sign a one year contract.

 

Requirements:

Native English speaker from UK or USA, Age 23-35 years. Bachelor's Degree or Higher Teaching Certification, TEFL certificate (TESOL/TEFL/CELTA, Teaching qualification Cambridge, etc.), Health check, Police check (DBS), 2 x portrait photographs

 

Details

Working hours: 100 hours per month taught during the days and evenings

Job Location: you will work at Vietnamese schools within Bac Giang during the day and at the English Centre at evenings / weekends.

Days off: 2 consecutive days off per week

Uniform: Females: modest long dresses or skirts and shirts (must cover shoulders and reach the knee) and smart shoes.  Males: collared shirts, smart trousers and shoes.

Lesson Preparation: You will be provided with course books and flash card resources for each lesson. You are expected to plan speaking and listening lessons which use these resources.

Classroom Support: You will have a Vietnamese teaching assistant available in your lesson to manage behaviour and assist with translating tasks.

Work Permit and Residence card: The centre will cover the cost of your work permit but you will be required to pay for document notarization and residence card.
