POSITION DESCRIPTION – ACADEMIC COORDINATOR

Position details:

Position title:               Academic Coordinator

Working location:       33 Lac Trung, Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi or may be required to work at other locations.

Reporting line:

Report to:                    Academic Manager

Direct report:               Teachers

Key Accountabilities:

1. Create lesson plans and edit existing lesson plans for all curriculums
2. Create tests for all grades
3. Assisting Academic Manager to control teaching quality through observing all schools regularly at least once a month and training teachers if required (cultures, teaching flexibilities methods, class management, new games update, ideas solving difficult cases might occurred, … etc)
4. Covering classes on Monday mornings and Friday afternoons when required
5. Teaching in some high ranking schools up to 10 hours/week
6. Participate in academic meetings at the end of semester at schools in Hanoi and provinces if required
7. Participate in schools’ monthly/quarterly meeting and
8. Participate in professional meetings related to programs, syllabus and teachers if required
9. To be Atlantic representative to judge contests, English festivals, to take part in Opening and Closing ceremonies, cheerful parties with government people in Hanoi or in other provinces
10. Giving out ideas and participating in MKT activities including delivering demo lessons at schools if required to attract students/parents to join our programs as many as possible.
11. Participating in teachers recruitment including searching candidates, interviewing
12. To be a connector between teachers and Atlantic and get teachers aware of Atlantic’s working culture and environment and being loyal and dedicated

Key Selection Criteria:

Mandatory:

1. Demonstrated and extensive experience in teachers management
2. Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative work teams, locally and internationally and also to work independently
3. At least two years management experience and four years teaching experience

Preferred:

1. Experience in working with the same position in Vietnam or Asian countries
2. Demonstrated knowledge of trend and best practice in public secondary & high schools in Vietnam

Qualifications:

Mandatory:

1. University Degree or equivalent
2. Teaching certificate such as CELTA, TEFL, TESOL, etc

Preferred:

1. Post graduate or Masters degrees
2. DELTA certificate
