Position Overview

UTS is seeking a dynamic and experienced Secondary Economics & Business Teacher to join our International Program for the 2026–2027 academic year.

The successful candidate will deliver Economics and Business lessons within the Advanced Placement (AP) and Oxford International Curriculum (OIC) GCSE programmes (A Level from the 2027–2028 academic year). Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Economics and Business to Secondary and High School students within the International Program (AP and Oxford International Curriculum GCSE; A Level from 2027–2028).

  • Deliver up to 30 teaching periods per week, plus 2 fixed ECA or tutorial periods (45 minutes per period).

  • Prepare and deliver engaging, student-centred lessons that promote academic excellence.

  • Collaborate with local teachers to communicate effectively with parents regarding students' academic progress and wellbeing.

  • Work closely with the Centre for Excellence (CoE) to support teaching and learning initiatives.

  • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, parent meetings, and school events.

  • Contribute to curriculum development and maintain accurate academic records in accordance with school policies.

Working Schedule

  • Monday to Friday

  • Working hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM or 7:45 AM – 4:45 PM (depending on timetable assignment)

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, or a related field.

  • A recognised teaching qualification or teaching licence (e.g. PGCE, QTS, or equivalent Teaching License).

  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in Secondary Economics and/or Business within a recognised school.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education or a related field.

  • Experience supporting or leading entrepreneurship and start-up initiatives.

  • Experience teaching English-medium programmes to students whose first language is not English.
