About Tesla Education

Tesla Education is a fully authorised IB World School in Tân Bình, Ho Chi Minh City. Founded in 2015, we offer the complete IB continuum: the Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme. We are a member school of the Council of International Schools.

Our dual track model brings the IB together with the Vietnamese national curriculum. Students grow as confident global citizens while staying rooted in Vietnamese language and culture.

Purpose of the Role

This role brings together two subjects that share the same core: logic, patterns and problem solving. You will teach ICT across the primary school, building digital literacy, computational thinking and responsible technology use.

You will also teach Mathematics in the middle school. You will use tools such as spreadsheets, graphing software and code to make mathematical thinking visible, and prepare students well for MYP 4 and 5 and the Diploma Programme.

Key Responsibilities

Primary ICT (Grades 1 to 5)

•      Plan and teach ICT lessons across the primary grades, grounded in the PYP and its approaches to learning.

•      Build progressive skills in digital literacy, computational thinking and coding, moving from block based to early text based programming.

•      Link ICT to units of inquiry so students research, create and present with purpose.

•      Teach digital citizenship and online safety in every grade, at an age appropriate level.

•      Maintain a clear primary ICT scope and sequence, aligned with the PYP and national curriculum informatics outcomes where relevant.

•      Help homeroom teachers use technology well in their own classrooms.

•      Work with IT support to keep devices and learning platforms ready for learning.

Middle School Mathematics (MYP 1 to 3)

•      Plan and teach MYP Mathematics using unit planners built on key and related concepts, global contexts and statements of inquiry.

•      Use the Tesla Teaching Framework in every lesson. Build fluency through explicit teaching and practice, then deepen understanding through inquiry and problem solving.

•      Assess against MYP Mathematics criteria A to D. Take part in standardisation and moderation with colleagues.

•      Use spreadsheets, graphing tools and simple coding to deepen mathematical reasoning.

•      Use assessment and internal examination data to plan intervention and stretch.

•      Prepare students for the demands of MYP 4 and 5 and DP Mathematics.

Across both programmes

•      Record assessment and progress on Toddle. Write accurate, personal report comments on time.

•      Attend PYP and MYP planning, moderation and team meetings.

•      Contribute to the PYP to MYP transition day and other transition activities.

•      Offer at least one after school activity, such as a coding, robotics or mathematics club.

•      Report online safety concerns promptly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

•      Take part in lesson observations, coaching and IB professional development.

•      Follow all school policies, including child protection, acceptable use of technology and data protection.

•      Undertake other reasonable duties set by the Coordinators or Head of School.

Personal Specification:

• Degree in mathematics, computer science, education or a related field

• Recognised teaching qualification (for example PGCE, BEd or a state teaching licence)

• At least two years of teaching experience in mathematics, ICT or both

• Confident with coding platforms such as Scratch and Python

• Fluent English, written and spoken, at native or near native level

• Clear commitment to safeguarding and child protection

• Meets the requirements for a Vietnamese work permit (international candidates)

• IB PYP or MYP teaching experience, or IB workshop training

• Experience teaching both primary and secondary students

• Educator certification from Google, Apple or Microsoft

• Experience with robotics or physical computing

• Experience in an international or bilingual school
