Please see my video here:
My name is Sinead McCarthy. I am from Ireland and I am moving to Vietnam on the 9th of January 2019.
I am an enthusiastic, kind and friendly professional with a proven track record in helping others. I enjoy sharing knowledge and inspiring both children and adults. For example I received an award from Source Magazine in 2017, for my work in designing, organizing and delivering a series of photography workshops to a group of marginalized adolescents (http://www.iadt.ie/gallery/sinead-mccarthy-selected-by-source-magazine). Since graduating, I have been working with the Threshold, Irelands National Housing Organization, as an advocate and facilitator on behalf of families who are at risk of being made homeless. I am passionate about helping others and found my work personally satisfying and beneficial. I am an excellent communicator and listener and I have the ability to understand the needs of others. I am also involved in professional photography where I am required to meet the needs of varied organisations and individuals, with confidence, skill, and flexibility and where I often work under pressure. These are all transferable skills that will help me create lesson plans, including individualised lessons based on personal need/capacity, organize my work flow and interact with students, effectively use resources, create assessment opportunities that will enhance learning and allow for equal opportunities. Education is a passion of mine and creating a safe, friendly and productive environment that will enable my students to learn is a top priority. With my experience and set of skills I feel that I would be a great asset to a teaching team.
I have previously collaborated with a youth centre and thought the children there photography. The outcome of this was an exhibition of the children's work. I see the teaching of English as a tool of empowerment for individuals and I will approach teaching with the aim to show people their own strengths and abilities.
Thank you for your time. I hope that you will consider me to be a suitable candidate.
