To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to apply for the position ESL Teacher. I have graduated from the University of Calgary in December 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Urban Studies. I have a 120 hours TESOL certificate and 2 years work experience teaching English in South Korea and online.
I believe that my education and prior work experience will make me an asset for this position. Throughout the past 2 years I have taught English as a second language to students from 4 – 13 years old in South Korea. I am also currently working as an ESL teacher online with VIPKID. During the past 2 years I have been exposed to various new cultures, ways of life and work environments. Learning to engage and excel in these environments has been a challenge that I have thoroughly enjoyed. Throughout these years I have been required to utilize a variety of different teaching methods and classroom management techniques to keep students engaged and ready to learn. These positions have required me to be organized, creative and exhibit strong communication skills. I also believe that my personality has allowed me to excel in these positions. I have a very energetic and outgoing personality. As a teacher, I am patient and encouraging. I perform well under pressure and am a creative problem solver.
With the combination of my education and work experience I believe I would be able to excel in this position. I am looking for a new opportunity to develop new skills and look forward to discussing the opportunity to join your team. I appreciate your time and consideration.
