TEFL Academy — TEFL Course (120 hours), 2016 (Merit)
City University London — MA Musicology, 2015 (First Class) | My MA research was primarily concerned with the cultural and aesthetic implications of technology-use in sound-based art. However, I also gained valuable experience in teaching and departmental organization. As the student representative for my course, I attended department meetings on a regular basis, contributing to and learning about the financial, pedagogic, and structural organization of the department. I also created and led a bi-weekly seminar entitled ‘Philosophy and Aesthetics of Music’ due to the lack of content concerning these topics in the course structure. This seminar was attended by students of all levels, from undergraduate to Ph.D., and has now been made a permanent departmental offering because of its success. As a key member of the City University Experimental Ensemble, I was also involved in various performances which added to my competence in public- speaking and leadership, including the premiere of Daniel Wolffe’s Phones and Microphones (2015) at Cafe OTO, and Jon Richards’ Hidden Sine (2015) at City University London.
Kingston University — BA Creative Music Technologies (First Class), 2011-2014 | In my BA, I was exposed to the theory and practice of canonic and contemporary researchers in arts education, leading me to develop a keen interest in all aspects of pedagogy. I was also involved in the Kingston University Digital Arts Collective (KUDAC), a unique laptop ensemble focusing on electronic, musical improvisation. Not only did I take a theoretical interest in education, but I also experienced it practically. Through this balance of practice and theory, I made some interesting observations which led me to deliver conference presentations on electronic music pedagogy at the Institute of Education, Cambridge University, and later The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Teacher, GELA Education, Ho Chi Minh City — April 2017-December 2017 | Working in public schools, both in class and at events, helped me to develop my confidence as a teacher. During my time with GELA I taught classes of over 50 children and hosted workshops and events for crowds of up to 700. This enabled me to thoroughly hone my skills as an educator and presenter.

Teacher, AMA (America Academy of English) Binh Thanh — September 2017-October 2018 | In my role as a class teacher and IELTS trainer at AMA Binh Thanh, I carried out English testing and training for children and adults. I worked hard to make lessons fun, devising novel ways to engage learners for future success. My students progressed exponentially as I am an experienced writer with a detailed knowledge of grammar and style.
