I have been a Maths and Physics tutor on and off for multiple years, primarily teaching children between the ages of 13 and 18, in one-to-one sessions as well as in groups of up to ten children.
My experience of teaching English as a foreign language comes primarily from my time working as a nanny in France. As well as ensuring the safety of the children and providing basic childcare, my role involved creating diverse activities for the children, enabling them to practise speaking English and to develop their vocabulary.
This role involved working with children of mixed abilities, including those who had no prior understanding of English. This posed an interesting challenge as it was necessary to develop activities through which each child could learn something new without feeling overwhelmed.
I am currently completing my combined 120-hour TEFL course, which includes 20 hours of classroom teaching. This course will be completed on 27 January 2019.
