I passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers last 2012. I took the International English Language Testing System General Training Module in 2017 and obtained a 7.0 overall band score.
To give you overview about my teaching experience, I taught High School Students for two years. My first teaching career was when the school where I graduated offered me a position as a High School Teacher and a Grade 10 Adviser as well. The focus of the school curriculum is more on Literature. It’s topic for High School Students as we dealt with a lot of Poems, Novels, Short Stories and the likes but my skills were developed because I managed to make the setting more interesting for them to learn. I think it is an essential characteristic of a teacher, to set the atmosphere and make sure it’s conducive to learners. During my first year of teaching, I believe that my creativity was developed as I was heavily involved with the School Programs and Activities. I developed my skills on how to manage events such as Acquaintance Party, Foundation Day, Intramurals and other social activities. I usually plan the theme, it includes the set up and decorations of the stage, I plan and create our Program of Activity, I used to make sashes for the winners because I have good penmanship, and I usually act as the Masters of the Ceremony because I love hosting. I have this great passion to see that the students were enjoying and appreciating the value of the activity.
During my Second Year of Teaching, I transferred to a different school here in Manila since I already gained experience. I worked as a High School Teacher in Our Lady Of Carmel Educational Foundation. I was also involved with school activities but the focus of teaching here is more of Language. Unfortunately, the school suffered from a financial crisis and was foreclosed by government agency. This is the reason why I shifted my career. I’ve been working as a Senior Documentation Specialist for almost 5 years. I do not have recent teaching experience in a school set up but my experience as Documentation Specialist exposed me better understand English in Academic aspect. Since our we process visa application for migration to Australia, one of the requirements of the client is to pass an English Proficiency Exam. To address this, I was also tasked to handle their English Review during Sundays. We study the four macro skills of the English Language namely Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. To work as a Visa Officer, requires a strong command of the English Language because our clients are all professionals.
I believe that the combination of my 2 year teaching career and recent experience as a Documentation Specialist will be beneficial to your school as I could contribute in uplifting the mission and vision of the school considering the welfare of the students to learn.
