I completed my Bachelor's Degree (Honours) in Journalism from the University of Pretoria, in South Africa.
I have also completed a 120-hour TESOL course through the International Open Academy.
I have spent the last four years as an English-language educator and educational content creator for both secondary language and bilingual speakers. These roles have taken me to Japan, Brazil, and Malaysia, where in each country, I was involved in helping students reach their language and learning goals, whether it be through teaching, or writing educational content. The most important thing I have taken with me from my experiences abroad is what I believe to be a radical imagination — the ability to imagine worlds vastly different from my own. This has made me a more empathetic and self-aware person, qualities I consider pivotal in becoming not only a better teacher, but a better human being.
