Throughout my time as a double major in both English and Spanish language, I had the opportunity to study the relationship of languages. Studying this relationship helped me to understand the importance of communication as well as pedagogic and classroom management.
During my four years at university, I was able to volunteer in a Special Education kindergarten classroom which furthered my understanding of hands-on teaching practices. In addition to working in the kindergarten class, I also volunteered as a Spanish tutor. I was able to learn about the process of advancement in language through the implementation of structured lesson plans. These plans were meticulously created through understanding the comprehension level of each student and working together to achieve a common goal.
