MSc TESOL (currently studying part-time)
I am applying for a place as EFL teacher with your institution because of my fascination with the English language and my passion for teaching it. After attaining my Bsc in Health and Social Care at the University of Plymouth in 2012, I worked in various positions until completing a 120 hour TEFL course in 2014. The English language has never been more relevant than it is in today’s world of globalisation and it is a language which creates wonderful opportunities for people all over the world. Upon completing the course I took the decision to travel and teach around Asia for a couple of years where I taught English in Sri Lanka, India and Nepal in a classroom environment.
I am currently studying an MSc in TESOL at the University of Bristol and am available from the end of April 2019 for further teaching experience.
I thrived in my role as a teacher and I loved working closely with the students, I found it hugely satisfying to witness how quickly they progressed. Since returning to the UK I have tutored four students regularly in groups and on a one to one basis including my student Dr Yongcheol Kim from South Korea. Yongcheol is an accomplished cardiology professor and although he has now moved back to South Korea I continue to tutor him via Skype and also proof-read and correct grammar in his cardiology presentations which he gives in conferences throughout Europe.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
