I am an educator who truly enjoys and has a passion for the profession. I have been traveling and teaching for years when I finally realized that this was the only career for me. I returned to the United States to get my Masters Degree of Education at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida, with the hopes to have more opportunities in the field. I look forward to continuing to educate our youth around the world. Please allow me to explain briefly my philosophy regarding academic leadership and how I could contribute to the growth and success of your institution.
It is my belief that the most important aspect of teaching is having a positive student teacher relationship. In order to accomplish this, the teacher needs to genuinely care about their students. Each child is unique and understanding and getting to know them as a person is an effective way to create that relationship. Students need a caring, secure, and stimulating academic atmosphere in which to grow and mature intellectually, emotionally, physically and socially. It is my duty as an educator to help students reach their fullest potential in these areas, as a guide, facilitator, and resource.
I have high expectations of my students and insist on challenging them on a daily basis, I feel that this is a monumental necessity for academic as well as natural growth. Luckily, not only do students enjoy being challenged, but with proper instruction, guidance, and moral support they succeed beyond their own expectations.
One of my greatest capabilities is facilitating all styles of learners. I develop multi-sensory lesson plans to meet the needs of auditory, visual, tactile, and kinesthetic learners. I incorporate various forms of technology, learning centers, group work, and individual attention to teach new concepts in academics. I also ensure that all students receive an appropriate amount of encouragement to enhance the student’s confidence and build on the positive student-teacher relationship.
I would like to thank you for your time. I look forward to speaking with you to discover if our philosophies are compatible with one another.
