Cristylle Mae Pogoy
I taught in the ESL Company in Philippines for about 7 months. My students were Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese, Koreans, Vietnamese, Mongolians, Russians, Arabians. I taught different age bracket like kids, teens and also adults, professionals and degree holders. I taught IELTS and TOEIC to mostly Japanese Junior High School and High School students.
When I was in my practicum days I met different kind of students, their different behaviors towards classes. During my class, I always keep on eye to the students so that they will be guided on what to do. Before I gave them the activities, I always explained to them the instruction first so that they will know and be guided on what they are going to do. When they became bored in the class I gave them some fun activities that can divert their attention and can get their interest. I always keep in touch to my students so that I will know their status and so that I can help them to improve more in class. I became friendly also to my students because I want them to be more comfortable to me where they can share their feelings and be open to me because I believe that teachers are not only teaching information or learning about class but they are also like a mother who always guide and support their kids.
