Dear Hiring Manager,
I was excited to learn about teaching opportunities in Vietnam . I am an American native speaker with a BA in economics from Loyola Marymount University, a JD degree in Law from Tulane Law School, a TEFL certificate, a passion for helping others, and a zest for life and living overseas. I am currently working in the Advertising industry in the United States but am looking forward to returning to teaching in Asia, especially Taiwan.
I have 3.5 years of experience teaching English, Business English, Business, and Economics to children, university students, and adults in China, Myanmar (Burma), and Vietnam. I have experience in training schools, universities, international schools and private tutoring. I enjoy creating unique “Out of the Box” creative lessons and activities to facilitate learning and engage students in a fun, practical way.
As part of my professional experience, I founded a small business called Peas for Prosperity. I created a unique way to package and sell Black-eyed Peas as well as a line of handcrafted sustainable jewelry. I partnered with local non-profits and hired program participants, mostly homeless adults and teens, to create and assemble my product. I taught entrepreneurial skills and gave back to the community by donating a portion of the profit from each sale to a local non-profit organization. This experience allowed me to develop creative teaching skills and proved to be an invaluable asset in the classroom.
I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
