Anh Nguyen Thi
I have taught at Sakura Montessori International School in Hai Phong, Vietnam.
After gaining my TEFL/TESOL certificate I was able to land a short term job in Vietnam. I was the lead teacher in Language and Culture which I had to make sure it made an impact on the students lives while delivering it in a fun and positive way.
Landing a job at Sakura Montessori International School in Hai Phong, Vietnam is my first official teaching job. Even though it was short term but I am confident I made an impact on the students. I knew landing a teaching job is not easy especially when dealing with students as young as 2.5 to 6 years of age. There was never the same exact "perfect" day. There are so many last minute changes and you must be ready to improvise. I got used to "thinking on my feet" and it was a constant uphill battle. There's never a down time but time flies. There are times when things get really tough; I just take a minute to think of the happy times and remember why I do this. I love teaching young students because they teach me how to be patient and happy. We would be singing and dancing with plenty of laughter, lots of love and care. I would love to return to the country I once had to leave and give back to what I have gained.
