It is used to determine whether an individual‘s criminal record convictions have any influence on holding a position in the office, managing cooperatives or businesses, or not. Thus, this article will provide a step-by-step guide on how to obtain it in Vietnam.
How to apply for a criminal record certificate in Vietnam?
Obtain a criminal record certificate at any Provincial Justice Department
Firstly, you need to prepare some documents, then go to the provincial justice department to submit them. The fee for applying for a criminal record is 200,000 VND/person. You can get a criminal record certificate within 10 days from your application form’s acceptance.
- A requesting application form of the criminal record
- A certified copy of your current passport
- A certified copy of your temporary residence certificate confirmed by ward police where you live.
Register for a criminal record certificate online
Step 1: Access the website https://lltptructuyen.moj.gov.vn/home, then select your case as a foreigner residing in Vietnam. Do not forget to choose the city where you live and click the arrow to continue.
Step 2: Press “Get started” to fill full information such as name, date of birth,.. into the application form.
A small reminder that you must determine the correct amount of fee to be paid. Normally, if you are a foreigner living in Vietnam, you will be charged 200.000 VND for a criminal record certificate.
In the attached documents section, you need to take a photo/scan of the following documents to upload for the competent agency to receive the dossier:
- Your current passport
- Temporary residence certificate.
If choosing a delivery unit, you can register to submit and receive documents at home. Then do not forget to fill in your address correctly to avoid any likely mistakes.
Step 3: Review all information you’ve filled in carefully. If they are correct, click “Next”. Notably, you can print and sign the declaration in this step.
The processing time for a criminal record certificate is within 10 days.
