A – Job summary

The SSIS High School Music Department seeks a Piano Accompanist to provide support to the music program through accompaniment on piano for the mixed voice choral ensemble for the 2023-24 school year.

B – Essential duties and responsibilities

The accompanist will work closely with the music director during weekly rehearsals, and perform with the choir at 2 yearly concerts, with the possibility of additional rehearsals/performances after school or at weekend events.  Strong music reading and performance skills are required for the position.  The accompanist will work during a single section of an 8-day rotating schedule for approximately 14 hours per month, not including preparation outside of rehearsals.

C – Competency

Evidence of music training via accredited music programs (ABRSM, Trinity College, or similar) is recommended. 

Candidates should possess strong collaborative, communicative, and organizational skills.
