About the role:

The role of Teaching & Learning Manager is one of high responsibility, directly concerned with the leadership and management of teachers and content at the centre. The TLM's guidance, vision, inspiration, initiative and management skills are fundamental to creating a climate which enables every member of the teaching team to flourish, and their relationship with the centre management team is vital to the smooth running and development of the centre.

The Teaching & Learning Manager also supports the Regional Manager of Teaching & Learning (RMT) with ongoing content evaluation and creation, and may also teach Young Learners (EY) and Adults (EA) classes.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Teachers and TAs competently and professionally
  • Undertake periodic observations to control teaching quality and write constructive feedback
  • Initiate and manage any required teacher discipline processes
  • Track programme standards and collect feedback from stakeholders (parents, students, teachers, TAs, staff) and report them to the RMT to make action plans to address any weak areas
  • Monitor the implementation of any changes made to content to ensure ILA quality standards at the center.
  • Undertake content project work as requested by the RMT.
  • Assist in the placement testing and classroom allocations of all students.
  • Undertake essential administrative tasks such as keeping up to date records of work, classroom registers, lesson plans, etc. as directed by the RMT in accordance with ILA requirements
  • Deliver and attend the required number of department and centre meetings, and professional development sessions, during your term of employment
  • To consistently ensure the welfare of our teachers and students remains paramount
  • To carry out any duties as may be reasonably assigned by the RMT or Centre Manager

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-year bachelor's degree
  • CELTA, Trinity TESOL or equivalent
  • Trinity or Cambridge Diploma (DELTA). Partial or intention to complete will be considered. Contract renewal dependent on attaining at least one Delta Module
  • Native English Level
  • Candidates with PGCE, IH DoS Certificate, IDLTM or MA TESOL preferred
