POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for implementing the STEM program/curriculum and collaborating with faculty to promote interdisciplinary STEM activities within the core curriculum in grades 1 – 5 and beyond as True North School grows.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement a STEM-based curriculum in collaboration with other STEM members;
- Use technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration;
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments aligned with curriculum goals and student learning;
- Pioneer new initiatives in support of the STEM program;
- Deliver STEM instruction through project-based learning methods in person and remotely, if needed.
- Coach teachers on STEM initiatives and best practices in the field of STEM;
- Order necessary hardware and help set up staff with software when needed;
- Share STEM events and activities with the Sales and Marketing and Communications Director for distribution on social media;
- Organize, develop, and coordinate STEM events and activities in collaboration with families and administration, such as True North’s Maker Faire.;
- Attend professional development and training related to STEM programs and methodologies, staying abreast of current research.
WHAT YOU OFFER US
- Graduated from University, majoring in Sciences.
- More than 5 years of developing and teaching experience in the STEAM area (bilingual or international school is an advantage), knowledgeable with the new education program.
- Good communication whether it’s a one-on-one, small group, or full-faculty meeting, analysis, evaluation.
- Experience in coding/programming
- Good at computers: know how to use G-suit, and apps for schools (CRM)
