Job Description

The Ha Noi IELTS teacher training project is designed to upgrade the English level of local English teachers, in order to improve their IELTS band score. Teachers will take their official IELTS exam at the end of the project and are expected to improve a minimum of 0.5 bands or more overall, based on their starting level. IELTS trainers will work as part of a team to deliver a set curriculum to groups of about 20 trainees. The curriculum is a combination of academic English lessons and IELTS-focussed practice. The project is expected to last from the beginning Aug to Nov/Dec 2024. Lessons are expected to take place during mornings and afternoons, 6 days per week, including both Sat and Sun. The final schedule will be determined by the project sponsor. Teaching rate: VND 600,000 -650,000 / hour Schedule

Tentative duration: August - November / December 2024

opportunity to teach 12-24 hours per week depending on the project schedule and the trainer’s availability

Location Trainers will work at one or both of Atlantic’s language centers, located on Lac Trung Street in Hai Ba Trung District and Hoang Ngan Street in Cau Giay District Key responsibilities

Plan and deliver effective academic English and IELTS lessons following the curriculum
Complete class records, marking and other admin on time and in full
Collaborate with co-teacher(s) as required
Assess learners’ writing and speaking accurately
Attend induction, meetings and other trainings as required
Attend opening / closing ceremonies

Qualifications: Essential

bachelor’s degree or higher
a recognized English teaching certificate such as CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL or equivalent
a minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience, including experience teaching IELTS and experience teaching adult learners
Prefer candidates who are currently in Vietnam and have a valid work permit and visa/TRC
