Description

The Academic Coordinator for Primary Schools is expected to achieve the following outcomes:

*Manage test creation, curriculum development work, and other projects as necessary; develop placement tests, pacing guides, extra curriculum, etc as necessary

*Assist the Academic Manager and Teacher Welfare and Recruitment team with hiring teachers (recruiting and interviewing) and disciplining teachers (as necessary)

*Handle issues and support Regional Head Teachers within a designated region of the program

*Accurately identify teachers who are underperforming, and support them through a Teaching development Plan in preparation for successful observation by AC or AM; observe teachers as necessary, including the outcome of Teaching Development Plans

*Co-plan and deliver sharing sessions and workshops that help teachers develop specific competencies to improve their teaching (one a day during induction week, plus roughly 2 per month during the school year)

*Design and implement teacher recognition programs, and coordinate social events

*Lead school outreach events (eg, school assemblies, competitions, parent workshops)

*Provide cover as necessary

*Teach own classes (at AM’s discretion) (max 12h per month)

 

Working location

*The AC is a 12 month position. The AC will be based at one center (Hoang Dao Thuy, Ba Trieu or Yen Phu), but will frequently travel to other centers and schools throughout the Schools Link network.

Requirements:

*CELTA or CertTesol (essential)

*Minimum of 2 years of in-classroom ESL related experience (essential)

*Extensive teaching experience with Young Learners (essential)

*A minimum of one year’s management experience in an ESL context (essential)

*Able to communicate clearly and effectively

*Excellent presentation and planning skills

*Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

*Computer literate, particularly with Office Suite and Google Suite

*High level of cultural awareness

*Must be friendly and approachable

*Able to travel within Hanoi

*Must be able to commit to one year minimum

Benefits

* Competitive salary offered is based on experience, qualifications, and location assigned. Monthly salaries can range from 55 to 63 Million VND, gross (about $2500-$2900). Possessing a YL extension helps to move you up the scale while having a Dip TESOL elevates you towards the top of the range.

*Performance related end-of-contract bonus 21 Million VND (about $950)

*Severance payment - ½ month per year

*Visa-Run flight reimbursement (for local hires) is up to 4.2 Million VND (about $190)

*In-bound flight reimbursement (for overseas hires) is up to 12.6 Million VND (about $570)

*Up to 10 days hotel accommodation for relocating hires, valued at 4.2 Million VND (about $200)

*Annual Leave and Sick Leave (approx. 20 days)
